Texas Hickory Golf

1. What are your prices?
Prices will vary based on length of time needed & location shipped but usually average around $125/set for a one day event, which includes 6 mesh pattern golf balls. The golf knickers/socks/St. Andrews cap for this same event would be $25 per person. We recommend 2 players per cart with one set of hickories because we include 2 putters in each set (2 woods, 5 irons & 2 putters).

2. Is there a contract to sign?
Yes, but it's a simple one page document that we can Email or fax. It helps for all parties to understand the specifics related to the rental of unique equipment. We also have a templated contract that your organization may use for tournament participants. You may also find these documents at the bottom of our website under "CONTRACT TERMS".

3. Aren't hickory shafts easy to break?
Not really! Most shafts that we have in our practice range sets are original pre-1935, which means they are over 80 years old. Our replica sets from Tad Moore Golf are just as resilient. Regardless of replica or original, "Breakage Insurance" is included in all prices we quote.

4. Why do we have to use the mesh pattern golf ball from TEXAS HICKORY GOLF?
Although some balls made today are acceptable for play with hickories, we choose to protect our clubs by using only the golf balls that we provide. These balls are designed for play with clubs from this period and keep the clubs in good shape for the next tournament. We do allow any ball to be hit with the original hickories we provide for use on the range.

5. Why does it take 4 - 10 weeks to receive clubs ordered from your website?
Every set is custom built. Tad Moore Golf will need specific measurements and characteristics of your swing prior to beginning the manufacturing of your clubs. The pre-1935 clubs are all one of a kind sets from Scotland and are imported as each order is placed. All other products are kept in stock and will be shipped via UPS within 72 hours of payment receipt.

6. What color knickers are available to wear in your tournaments and in what sizes?
If you look through our website, I am "modeling" the knickers, argyle socks and St. Andrews caps that we use in our tournaments. The colors are purple, maroon, green, olive, brown, gray, black and navy. Each pair of knickers has a "stretchy" waistband and fits within a two sizes range, starting at 27 and going up through 51. When given enough time, we will always look at special ordering a size for tournament play.

7. How can you possibly have enough sizes for the St. Andrews caps and argyle socks?
The St. Andrews caps and argyle socks are both ONE SIZE FITS ALL. GolfKnickers.com is the supplier for our clothing and is the leader in the industry for this type product. The knickers and caps are made from a very nice microfiber.

8. I don't want to wear clothing that someone else has been in?
We understand your concern and that is why all of our clothing is professionally cleaned by a Dry Cleaners in Argyle, Texas. The clothes are then hung, wrapped in plastic and placed inside a TEXAS HICKORY GOLF logoed garment bag.

9. How do we get our hickories and clothing for the day of the tournament?
Typically, we will bring one of our trucks to the course and place on site the week of the tournament. The clothing will be available for pickup, at the course , the day before the tournament. All golfers will need to bring a change of clothes to the tournament and return TEXAS HICKORY GOLF clothing items before you leave the golf course. In certain situations, clothing may be returned the following day to the golf course or tournament coordinators for delivery to TEXAS HICKORY GOLF.

10. Your schedule from this website shows you have an open date but you don't have any clubs available to rent for the date(s) we want....why is that?
We have hickories for rental at various golf clubs throughout Texas and in some cases, these courses have special events that are not listed on our calendar. We will always work with you to find available hickories, even if that means we use other companies to coordinate your event. WE WANT YOU AS A CLIENT!
